we participate in the DOT hydrogen working group. The hydrogen working
group is an organization organized and run by the
Research and Innovative Technology
Administration (RITA).

partner here within the confines of Academy Grounds. Without their

New York Metropolitan Sustainable Energy Consortium -

Recently the USMMA was one of three founding members in a regional
consortium with other leading academic institutions in the New York metropolitan
area. NYMSEC's mission is to unite "...organizations in a common vision of
improving society's awareness of sustainable energy through the advancement and
development of energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy practices."

Center for Sustainable Energy - Founded in 2003, the mission of the Center for
Sustainable Energy (CSE) is to promote a stronger economy and a healthier
environment through education, training and community involvement. The CSE has
sponsored conferences, events, and raised hundreds of thousands in funding, and
plays a vital role in guiding the City of New York toward a bright future. They
are a true model for other academic sustainable energy related organizations.
Farmingdale State University of New York
Combined, these three parties within the State University represent a
diversity of expertise and resources.
• Institute for
Research & Technology Transfer (IRTT) - A primary mission of the IRTT is to
bring students and modern technologies together by pursuing state of the art
projects. One such initiative includes building & testing IRTT developed
fuel-cell systems; several patents are pending.
• Farmingdale
Solar Energy Center (SEC) - The SEC has established an impeccable reputation
on Long Island for its long standing solar-exhibits and PV installation
certification courses.

Social Science Research Center (SSRC) - Simply stated the SRCC plays the
vital role of bridging the gap between the public and technology. The SRCC
facilitates effective communication for the purpose of breaking down barriers
and myths which stand in the way of society's advancement.

Brought together through the 2005 Solar
Decathlon competition, run by NREL and the DOE, NYIT and the USMMA are
currently drafting a partnering agreement for continued development of the
